So apparently Google thinks I need a tank to contain semen. I guess I can't really question Google.

Just a word on being grateful to have a job.

The bus drivers here in Chicago make 17.85 an hour. I don't know what kind of hours they work, but that is a whole lot of money. They could at least be happy and cheerful. I was getting on a bus with a giant cart full of groceries. When I asked the bus driver if she would lower her handicap ramp so I could push the cart up, instead of having to set down all the other grocery bags in my hands and lift the ramp up, man, you would have though I asked her to cut off her arm and hand it to me.

For 17.85 an hour, I would probably never stop smiling. But who knows, I've never driven a bus. Maybe it hurts.

Employment situation

Had a job interview yesterday. Of the 3 I've gone on, this is the first job I really would want. It's a sales job with an 8 person marketing company and from what it sounds like I would be the Inside Sales force (calling the companies, prospecting, qualifying the opportunities) and then the president of the company would be the Outside Sales force, going out and meeting with prospects to make deals, and then we would tag team to actually get the deal signed.

It's funny, the one avenue that hasn't yielded many results is Careerbuilder.com. I haven't found hardly any prospects there. Big ups to Monster and Craigslist.

I'm going grocery shopping today and I've put together a menu of about 8 scrumptious meals. Combinations of old favorites (Chicken and Dumplings, Turkey Tacos, etc.) and new favorites (Pesto Chicken Rolls, Baked Pork Chops) I love to cook. I just wish I had a better palate and was able to make myself eat more veggies.

The Resolution post

Everyone else is doing it so I guess I should make a list of my new years resolutions. Those resolutions will probably be tracked via this blog, so I'll have something to hold me accountable.

1. Lose weight. Goal is to lose 70 lbs by the end of the year, but I hope for more. This will be done through a combination of regular excercise and trying to maintain a 2500 calorie diet that doesn't exceed 80g of fat. I'm also going to really make an effort to try new foods.

2. Pay down/eliminate debt. If I could get a job sometime this week, I would probably be able to acheive this with my severence package. Luckily for me, I don't have a lot of debt.

3. Do regular mailings to talent agents and start trying to take my acting career seriously. This means going on more auditions, taking classes, etc.

4. Write more. That includes writing something daily in this blog. Also, polishing the plays that I've written and starting to write some new ones.

5. Read more. My goal has always been a book a week. With my discovery of enjoying to read the paper, I lost alot of that goal. But, I'm going to still try for it. I'm just going to read more and watch less television/play online less.

5. Play/write more music. Possibly begin performing again.

6. Begin more serious work on trying to start my own theatre company.

7. Walk more. This kind of falls under the more excercise thing.

8. Be more social/make some friends.

I think that's all I have. But, I will let the internet know if I think of any others.
